Being a Cub Scout is fun! We get to do fun things
with other kids! Cub Scouts wear a uniform so everyone knows
you are part of a great organization and it gives them a
great sense of pride to belong. Cub Scouts get to
see things and go places, do things and learn new things.
Cub Scouts get to play all kinds of sports and build things,
like bird houses, race cars (Pinewood Derby), and sometimes
even build and race little boats (like the
Raingutter Regatta).
This year we ran the Regatta and look forward to the
Pinewood Derby early next year. Cub Scouts even do camping things; day camps, short day-time camp
events, hiking, taking photographs, sometimes even an
overnight camp, sometimes even at a zoo or a ballpark! Does this
sound like fun? Then Let's Go Cub Scouting!
If you are a boy in first grade through fifth grade —
or you are 7 to 10 years old — then Cub Scouting is for you.
Cub Scouting is for
your family, too. Cub Scouting is the first and the biggest of the three Scouting programs (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and
Venturing) from the Boy Scouts of America.
